Description

A powder made from a root vegetable from Peru that contains various vitamins, minerals, enzymes and all essential amino acids. Maca can be eaten every day and is delicious in smoothies, lassi, nut milks and juices. Maca is especially delicious when combined with raw cacao as these two super foods enhance the taste of each other.

Shamans in the Andes are convinced that when someone eats Maca, spirits descend to earth to find suitable parents so they can reincarnate. In the Inca era, Maca was often given to warriors before going into battle, to make them alert and give them inexhaustible energy and strength. However, after the warriors had conquered a city or part of the country, they were denied Maca consumption to spare the women in the conquered region.
